THE DAILY TELEGRAPH - 1200 WORDS FLAT FEE OF $400

Jack Rear @jacksayspurple:...if there are any freelancer writers who would like to pitch Best & Worsts, they can do that via me as well jack.rear@telegraph.co.uk - #freelancerequest [via email: for Best & Worst, I'm looking for celebrity interviews with household names. The format is usually fairly consistent, we ask them about their highlights and lowlights in the context of 'Best' and 'Worst' questions, for example, 'Best childhood memory?', 'Worst interaction with a fan?' etc. Usually 6-7 of each, followed by an 'ABSOLUTE WORST' which is their most hated, room 101 style, loathed person, place or thing - anything from peas to climate change have been mentioned in the past. It's a generally light-hearted slot and generally the celebs like it because all the questions can be quite soft-ball.  In terms of pitching, if you have ideas, let me know them first and I will assess. The celebrities can be presenters, actors, authors, athletes, musicians, public figures - anyone who is a household name. The only major stipulation is that we have to make sure they'll be familiar to Telegraph readers [50-60 year olds]. We also have to avoid people we've already covered as the editor is strict that there be no repeats. You can find the full archive here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/the-best-and-worst-of/ It's a 1,200ish word slot, with a flat fee of £400 per interview, paid on delivery. We don't have the budget to pay for names, so generally you'll need to find someone who is already on the press rounds promoting an upcoming project.]
